signsPictured are the some of the projects undertaken by the Gerries during the
break. These two were partly funded by the profits from the Ladies/Gerries Day at the end of 2011. The guys have been extremely busy around the course and in the Clubhouse. The kitchen has been cleaned to within an inch of its life and is now ready for the new caterers. For the information of the newer members of our club, the Gerries are a group of older members of AGC who play 14 holes after the Ladies each Tuesday, except when we have shotgun starts, when they play on Wednesday. This is a social golf group which was formed to keep the

ageing male members playing beyond the time when many feel they cannot play 18 holes or join the more competitive play. Not only do they then continue to pay their yearly fees, but on Tuesday they bring in added revenue to the Pro Shop (through the hire of carts), the bar and the bistro. The monies they collect weekly all goes back to the Club via their two large social gatherings (wives included) during the year and the funding of resources for their Wednesday working bees on the course.
