The Match committee wanted to give you some information about what will happening over the next couple of months:

1. 2 Tee Start:
Saturday 15tht May will see the re-introduction of the 2 tee start for Saturday competitions. This will continue until the end of August.

2. Thanks for entering scores:
We appreciate all those people who put their single and team scores into the computer when you hand your cards in. There are now 2 touch screens that will allow you to enter scores and also do your bookings. One in the Pro Shop and the other near the TV where the scores appear.

3. Compulsory Computer Score Entry:
Sometime in the next month or so (date to be advised) we will be moving to COMPULSORY entering of your scores (Members & visitors alike) into the computer before you place your card in the box. Please remember to stamp your card on the right-hand side with the "ENTERED" stamp.
You will be required to enter scores on a hole by hole basis into the computer for single events and a team score for other events. The software program makes this type of score entry very easy and fast. This will enable presentations to be done closer to the last group finishing as well as assisting with the further changes to the handicapping system that will be introduced later this year.

We expect it will take people and little bit of time to get into the habit of entering scores so the Match Committee will be providing assistance and training to players for the first 4 weeks to get all of you up to speed on how to do this. We look forward to everyone’s cooperation in this change but there will be penalties applied for those that do not enter their scores after the initial training period. We really hope that we never have to apply a penalty and we hope that our experience will be the same as other Clubs who have this system, where they do not have issues with Members not entering scores.

4. Scorecards to be Printed in Pro Shop:
Starting in the next week or so your scorecard will be printed in the Pro Shop for all competitions. When you check in your scorecard will be printed with your name (names if it is a team competition), handicap (team handicap if a teams event), competition being played, correct indexes and any other information such as sponsors, local rules etc that the Match Committee decide to include.

If it is a team event then before you can have your card printed then you will need to advise the Pro Shop who you are playing with so that the correct team names and team handicap can be included on your card. This will automatically put the correct team combinations into the computer for you to do your score entry at the end of your game.

5. Booking Visitors into our Competitions:
A new version of the software that the Pro Shop uses to make bookings has been installed. This system makes it easier for them to book visitors into our competitions. The Pro Shop staff have been instructed to not make any visitor bookings unless the are given the players name and GOLFLINK details. So please do not ask the Pro Shop to put visitors into a competition unless you have the visitors name & GOLFLINK number. The system automatically checks that the golflink details are correct so you will need to have the correct details.

Also the Pro Shop staff have been instructed to only book in Members by using their Membership number. This ensures the Member is financial and entitled to play on that day (eg must be a 7 day member to play on a Saturday or 6 day member to play on a Sunday). Please do not ask them to enter Members names any other way.

Of course the easier option is for you to directly book your visitors into our competitions using the 2 touch screens at the club or going to Online Bookings from home or work.

Please feel free to talk to any of the Match Committee if you have any questions.
